FLIGHTROUTEAPI · BUILD WITH OBSERVATIONS

Daily GNSS observations, ready for your map.

Query imported navigation-accuracy observations and display the original H3 cells in OpenLayers.

What is this dataset?

The daily layer is an indicator of degraded navigation accuracy reported by observed aircraft. It is not proof of intentional jamming, a transmitter location or a navigation safety service. Empty areas mean no observations, not confirmed absence of interference.

Can I request historical dates?

GET /v1/gnss/dates lists dates actually imported by the service. Use the documented date parameter on GET /v1/gnss/cells to retrieve cells for a selected UTC day. Daily aggregates become available after the observation day; today may not yet exist.

How are values calculated?

The displayed percentage is 100 × max(bad − 1, 0) / (good + bad). Each H3 cell retains the original good and bad aircraft counts. Counts across neighbouring cells must not be interpreted as unique aircraft totals.

How do I render the layer?

Use the original H3 boundaries rather than drawing a new grid around cell centres. The OpenLayers demo provides date selection and the backend exposes map data using the same API authentication as other datasets.

How fresh is the map?

The server imports daily aggregates on a scheduled job and exposes available dates. Select the latest available date instead of assuming the current UTC date has observations. Collection delays and unavailable days are visible.
